I just made one of my bosses cry, for I gave her this painting of her cat. She has been traveling a great deal, for doctor visits for severe health reasons.
In other news,
The Spine God answered my prayers, because my back felt very good this past Saturday and Sunday. It survived very well from the walking, geek talking, sitting, walking some more, sitting, nerding, and resting in the evening.
I had "jammed" my spine in a couple places last week, had decompression done Thursday, hurt Friday. More decompression yesterday, and am waiting for the swelling/hurt to subside.
This last weekends annual Emerald City ComiCon was everything I thought it would be, plus crepes and a ton of feedback regarding online comics and fantasy/sci-fi illustration. I indulged myself a great deal within the Artist Alley, and found a fellow dragon artist.
Travis and I went to a couple panels involving online comic creation and business, and even managed a small chat with one of the penny-arcade staff. And got a signed poster by the creators. Awesome.
Got lots of stuff for other friends, Jason in particular will get something in the mail as soon as I can send a friend to the post office for me.
I don't know if I can express how hopeful it made me to talk to all of these comic, fantasy, and online comic artists. I had more than one professional tell me to not give up, keep at it, and if you keep doing what you love you will eventually encounter a pay off. Simply lounging in the aura of hundreds of people with the same passion, weather they were behind the tables or in front, was very encouraging.
Alright! My give up! I'll twitter. I'll Elfwood. I'll keep up DeviantArt. But I refuse to MySpace.
