Mermaid

Conversation I had with a couple of young girls and the mom that came into my work. Girl #2, the younger of the two, could barely see over the counter. Girl #1, "The Skeptic", is the older of the two sisters.


Girl #1: "Wow! You have blue hair!"

Girl #2: "Are you a mermaid!?"

Me: "Yes"

Girl #2: "REALLY?"

Girl #1: "Where's your fin?"

Me: "By day I make smoothies, by night I'm a Mermaid"

Girl #1: "Are you serious?"

Girl #2: "COOL!"

Girl #1: "I don't think you're a Mermaid"

Girl #2: "Why aren't you a mermaid all the time?"

Me: "Because, I like people, and I need a job."

Girl #1: "You're not a Mermaid"

Girl #2: "I'd be a Mermaid all the time if I could!"

Mom: "Okay girls, let's go!"
