Holy P*** F**yd
I...
I can't believe it. I saw him. I saw Roger freaking Waters live!
Michael thought it would be funny to not tell me anything whatsoever. It wasn't until we reached the gates, or at least when we were in line I saw the tickets sticking out of his shirt pocket, that I discovered his evil plan. Even after I squealed ecstatically, he still just smiled.
It was of course a memorable event; squirming with awe as Roger Waters played/sang the classics: Another Brick in The Wall, Have a Cigar, Wish You Were Here, Comfortably Numb, Dark Side of the Moon.
The screen behind the stage seemed always lit with some crazy video assortment. The mix of disturbing images, with his lovely despairing music was jarring in a beautiful way. It was sobering, but not surprising, to also see several anti-Bush references shown throughout the performance.
I was tickled too at the crowds that showed up. Many oldish hippies, and a bunch of young squirts that may or may not have their learning permits yet. We even stared in wonder at a some clean-cut and well-dressed couples that were there.
What was even more entertaining was looking down at the floor audience and seeing dozens of little lights...those lights being lighters, right?
Nope, the audience was dotted with camera phone screens! We spotted maybe seven old-school folk with lighters. nice.
Hot Dam the guitar solos were meltingly superb. Even though they were mostly performed by some younger guy, the audience just about drowned it out with praising screams.
I'm gonna go cozy up with my Dark Side of the Moon hoodie and listen to some Wall.
Thank you Michael.
