Heat exhaustion

Due to a sudden inspection of my apartment building, the doors along the main entrance and stairway are no longer propped open. The result? It has become a sauna on the top floor of the building. Not just hot, but it also feels unbreathable.

Residing on the top floor, I found myself coming down with classic symptoms of overheating. Saturday morning, I was able to escape up to a friends place on the Hill and stay the night in their temperature appropriate apartment.

I'm not sure if I should gather up other apartmentees in protest against this stuffiness, ask the landlord for help, or do it myself and get an air conditioner.
The first two options would take too long. I need a solution TODAY or I'll end up seeing spots again.
